This page details how to become a sponsor of the Stormwind Community.

Why Sponsor?

Sponsoring an open-source community might not seem a very attractive thing at first sight.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Open Source communities are often a point of communication between many of the high-skilled individuals working in our industry.

By sponsoring a community like that you're getting advertisement to a very demanding target. If your service lives up to their expectations you can count on more business coming as well.

How to Sponsor?

Since we're a non-profit organization, we won't take donations in cash. We really don't see the point. We are doing fine at our jobs, so money won't help.

However, the community requires several infrastructure components that can be quite costly like web hosting, SVN hosting, build servers and so on. This is where you get the opportunity to sponsor us.

What's in it for me?

Well you get to have the logo of your company in the Sponsors area in the left bar in ALL pages here in the portal. You also get to have a banner displayed here in the portal.

We usually brag about our sponsors in the portal pages, as well as in our blogs so people get to know them.

So I get to decide!

Sorry, but no. In order to keep the projects focused and with as high quality as possible we don't allow decisions to be taken by anyone not in the PMC.

We do take into consideration community feedback, of course. Being a sponsor gives you as much right to provide feedback and help us keep focused as anyone else.

We are very committed towards adding as much information about the projects hosted in Stormwind Project as possible.

Web Hosting
We are currently using WebHost4Life as our webhost. Even though they are cheap, we are not satisfied with their service in terms of performance, price and support.

To keep the portal running as well as other sub-projects that we'll get on air soon we need a web host that can provide us with:
  • PHP 5.0
  • ASP.Net 2.0
  • Unlimited Transfer (desirable)
  • SQL Server 2005
  • MySql
  • Control Panel
  • Multiple domains and sub-domains
  • Ftp Access with multiple accounts
  • SSH
